The Greenland National Theatre and School of Theatre presents a new production of Shakespeare's timeless comedy, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", for the first time ever in Greenlandic in an original and innovative translation by Makka Kleist.
Four young lovers and a group of six amateur actors are manipulated by nature's spirits. The applicable powers have the power, but who is it? – and where is the love and desire? – Where is the animal and the magician in all of us? Playfulness and magic are in abundance as we move from despair and confusion to redemption. All in a world where the spirits are at work to cause chaos through dream, imagination – intended or accidentally?
On a tour through several different rooms at the Theatre, we are led into a journey in the imagination and asked to drop the parades to follow the dreams and open ourselves to change.
