Now the audience in Nuuk can experience the critically acclaimed performance “Angutivik”, which secured actor Klaus Geisler a Reumert prize in 2019.
The theater performance Angutivik, which in english has been titled “The Greenlandic Man”, will be on tour in Denmark to no less than 14 theatres around the country. In this connection, the show will also be shown in Danish in Nuuk, on 30 April and 1 May.
Angutivik is a redefining performance portrait of the greenlandic man. The performance describes the man a new and travels deep into his mind, sexuality, ancestors, his struggles and the love for nature, the city and woman.
The performance is directed by Hanne Trap Friis and written by author Niviaq Korneliussen, who is known for her direct style from the generational novel "HOMOsapienne". In "Angutivik" she writes with a contemporary voice and a temperament that cuts to the bone in a bare and skinless declaration of love for that greenlandic man. Niviaq Korneliussen received the Nordisk Råds Litteraturpris 2021 for the novel "Blomsterdalen".
