When Niviaq Korneliussen published the novel HOMO sapienne in 2014, it created a lot of attention – and rightly so. The novel fulfilled a need for youth literature in Greenlandic, told from a Greenlandic reality. First of all, it is a novel about love, about sexuality, about youth, about identity, about gender, about finding oneself, about friendship and about being judged by society.
Fia is beside herself; blushing, babbling – in short, she's in love! HOMO sapienne is a coming-out story with five main characters – three gay, one bisexual and one transsexual.
