Two years ago we showed this Christmas performance for the first time. It became so popular among both young and old that we have chosen to set it up again for Christmas 2014.

A classic Norwegian Christmas performance. The well-known writer and musician, Alf Prøysen, wrote this Christmas performance as a short story. Since then, the short story has been performed at many theatres, made into a film and is read out on Norwegian radio every Christmas.

What fascinates is that Carpenter Andersen dresses up as a traditional Santa Claus to give presents to his children. But outside the house he meets a real elf. A real elf is a creature from Norse times. If you treated the elf well, the elf could help. But if you treated the elf badly, he could kill pets, steal and cause accidents. This elf meets Snedker Andersen, and they agree to switch roles. The carpenter goes to the elf children with gifts, and the elf goes to Carpenter Andersen's children with gifts.
