A 'coming of age' performance for young people and adults is being staged again by Greenland's National Theatre, this time with acting students from Greenland's School of Actors as part of the acting ensemble.

Angakkussaq - a performance for young people aged 10 and up is a theatrical adaptation of the novel Those Who Run in the Sky, written by Canadian Inuk author from Igloolik Aviaq Johnston, and is about Pitu who is learning to use his powers as an angakkoq, a spirit man. The performance is very physical and takes us through Pitu's journey in becoming an adult; where he meets spirits, wolves, a giant and finally returns to his place of residence. The performance is a journey through an Inuit myth and although it takes place around Igloolik in Nunavut, it could just as well have taken place here in Greenland. Experience a performance within the fantasy genre rooted in Inuit culture.

The performance is shown in Nuuk and then goes on tour in Canada where it is invited to play in the Alianait Art Festival 2022.
