The starting point for the performance is Bent Haller's book The Story of Santa Claus. It has been adapted for the stage and rewritten to a greater extent based on the Greenlandic legend culture.

The story takes place around the winter solstice and is about the battle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness and evil. The Innersuit (subterranean spirits) have captured the sun and created eternal darkness. A polar bear has taken up the fight with the spirits, but has been badly injured. 2 brave children find the bear and see that it is half human and half bear, so they help him to heal his wounds. The children now enter the battle to free the sun, and they must use all their courage, cleverness and charity before the battle is won.
