Crusoe is a bitter-satirical-humorous dramatization of Daniel Defoe's book: "Robinson Crusoe" from 1719. Johnstone focuses on the British's God-given urge to subjugate other peoples and their natural resources - under the guise of saving and civilizing the heathen. In Johnstone's dramatization, Robinson Crusoe does not meet a servile, ignorant person in the form of Friday. On the contrary, he meets a person of culture who plays on home turf. We have chosen to keep Johnstone's Caribbean desert island in our concept. The parallels to Greenland/Denmark's colonial history are evident in the maps in Johnstone's texts.
