Runes Next Zone

RUNES is a dance performance inspired by Nordic mythology, Vikings and the cult film "Hunger Games".

The performance is a mix of breakdance, modern dance and circus. The dancers live in a world of love, power, war and hope. The past, present and future intertwine. The human bodies form runes, Viking patterns, just like in the "Bayeux tapestry".

In the performance, we meet wild "Berserker warriors" with characteristics from the Nordic goddesses and gods that matter for people's destinies, mythological creatures that are half human, mixed with dragons, snakes and eagles as well as valkyries.

Next Zone and choreographer Lene Boel have come up with the idea for RUNES.

Rex Casswell has composed the music, and Jesper Kongshaug is responsible for lighting. An international team of break dancers, modern dancers and world-class circus artists take part in the performance.
